Feds' Marketing & Communications Department provides leadership to all areas in the Federation of Students in marketing and communication efforts that inform the undergraduate student population at the University of Waterloo of the ways their student union serves, empowers and represents them.

There are a number of ways that the Marketing & Communications Department provides support to students.  

Requesting a Poster Design

The Marketing & Communications Department provides graphic design services for student-run services, Feds clubs, societies and events. To make a formal request, following the information below.

Step One: If you are requesting an event poster, ensure your event is approved

Fill out the appropriate event form at eventforms.feds.ca. Please allow for 2-3 business days for your event form to be processed. You will receive an e-mail with approval.

Step Two: Email your request
Email marketing@feds.ca from a uWaterloo e-mail address (e-mails not sent through your @uwaterloo.ca account will not be delivered).

INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS:
- The Feds club, service, or society you are requesting the design for.
- Any sketches or ideas you have for the design.
- Any logos you want included on the design. We will add the Federation of Students Clubs or Services logo as appropriate.
- Other relevant details.

IF THIS IS AN EVENT, include what you want displayed on the poster/design:
- Who is it for?    What is it?    When is it?    Where is it?    
- How much is it?
- Are advance tickets available? If so, how much?
- Are tickets available at the door? If so, how much?
- Are there different prices for uWaterloo students and guests? What are they?
- Is it 19+ or All Ages?  Any other restrictions?
- Do you have a website or social media site with more information?

Any requests that do not include all necessary information may cause a delay as we request the information from you. Please allow 2-5 business days for a sample design for your approval.

Requesting a Poster Printed

Marketing & Communications provides printing services to students for Feds clubs, services, societies and events only. Feds does not provide personal printing services.

Step One: If you are requesting printing for an event, ensure your event is approved.
Fill out the appropriate event form at eventforms.feds.ca. Please allow for 2-3 business days for your event form to be processed. You will receive an e-mail with approval. Feds does not provide personal printing services.

Step Two: Submit your request.
Visit request.feds.ca, and select the Marketing Request button. Select the Create a new Request button, then complete the online form including the following details.

- Which club, service or society is this printing for?
- How many would you like printed?
- What paper size would you like it printed on?
- How many per page?
- How many would you like printed?
- Would you like the printing to be in black & white or colour ink?
- Any other relevant details?
- An attachment containing the file you want printed.

Ensure the Feds Clubs or Services logo is included as appropriate. Consider using the Poster Run service.

Requesting Tickets Printed

Feds provides thermal ticket printing for all Feds clubs, societies, events, and initiatives that we run. With a Feds thermal ticket printer, we are able to provide you with a fresh, professional, and sleek way to be able to promote your event with students.

Website Updates

Do you see outdated information on our website? Do you need website assistance for Feds.ca and any of the webpages on our website? E-mail our Electronic Media Coordinators at web@feds.ca from a uWaterloo e-mail address (e-mails not sent through your @uwaterloo.ca account will not be delivered).

Social Media/Public Relations Training & Assistance

The Marketing and Communications Department manages a number of social media platforms for the Federation of Students.

Feds' Communications Coordinator Lisa Umholtz provides assistance to Feds clubs, services and societies seeking assistance with managing their social media accounts, as well as assistance working with the media, generating press releases, and increasing exposure to your initiative. Easy Advertising Ideas

Student Life Centre Atrium Banners
Feds clubs, services and societies are welcome to use the railings in the Student Life Centre Atrium area to display event banners. Banner space is available on a first-come first-serve basis, and a maximum of 7 feet banners is permitted. Only event and time-sensitive advertising is encouraged on the railings, not general promotion, and is permitted only for a two week period. The Feds logo or Feds Clubs logo is required on all banner postings.

Want a banner printed?
If you would like help from us to design and/or print a banner for you, e-mail marketing@feds.ca from a uWaterloo e-mail address with the same information you would request for a poster design. Please allow 3-4 business days for a sample design for your approval.

Add Your Event to the Feds.ca Events Calendar 
We welcome you to submit your event for inclusion on the Feds.ca Events Calendar, by visiting feds.ca/events

Complete the online submission form. Please expect four business days (Mon-Fri, 9-4) for your event to be posted.
