Your Feds 2017/2018 Representatives

Thank you to everyone who voted in the 2017 Feds Election. Please see the successful candidates below.

Antonio Brieva (Gold Team) - President
I am a fourth year joint honours student in political science & speech communications, specializing in business. My involvement in campus life started at Imprint, where I then got involved with Arts Orientation; worked as an academic and social peer mentor at the SSO; was elected to be a Feds’ Arts Councillor; and hired to be the current Feds’ Government Affairs Commissioner. All of these experiences have equipped me with the skills and experiences needed to successfully represent and work on your behalf, humbly as your next Feds President. Hey UWaterloo, I am your current VPOF and I am seeking re-election for the 2017-2018 term. I am a Recreation and Sport Business Grad and have an intense passion to improve the student experience on campus. Throughout this past year I have brought new food options on campus for affordable prices, improved PT staff training to ensure students received the optimal customer service, and have helped improve Feds sponsorship. I have been involved on campus in numerous ways ranging from AHS FOC, Warrior Tribe, AHSUM VP Finance & VP Education, and I have volunteered in a variety of events across campus.

Andrew Clubine (Gold Team) – Vice President, Education
I’m in 4B Knowledge Integration and currently sit on UW’s Senate and Board of Governors. I have researched student housing trends and negotiated your UPass as Feds’ Municipal Affairs Commissioner. I have lobbied the Province for OSAP reform and student employment rights. I hope to continue advocating for things that enable your personal, academic and professional success as your VP Education. My priorities include thoroughly reviewing the co-op fee, starting a student rights advisory service, and building a "one-stop-shop" for student wellness. Want to know how I’ll work for you? Visit voteteamgold.com or email me at andrew.clubine@uwaterloo.ca!

Jill Knight (Gold Team) – Vice President, Internal
Hi UWaterloo!
I am in my fourth year of Recreation and Leisure studies with a Tourism Option and I am running for your Vice President of Internal for Feds. Throughout my time spent at the University of Waterloo, I have been involved in many different departments from Housing and Residence, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, Federation of Students, and the Student Success Office. Throughout all these vast experiences, I have gained a better understanding of how important extracurricular involvement can impact your undergrad experience. With that in mind, I am looking to be a voice for your experience!

Stephanie Ye-Mowe – Environment Council
Hi! My name is Stephanie Ye-Mowe and I'm one of those weird Knowledge Integration kids you probably see wandering around from time to time. Having transferred from another university, I find the idea of campus culture and how student politics vary at different institutions fascinating. I'm also piloting a new Fall Welcome Week event for ENV so look out for that. Also about me, I dabble in writing and plan to study historical ecology in the future. While I wasn't always a member of the ENV faculty, I'm proud to be part of this family and look forward to representing ENV on Student Council.

Hello Warriors, this will be my third term serving you on Feds Student Council and I’m excited to continue working on the issues that you bring to me: housing, email, Waterloo Works and coop problems, access to course materials, and enabling you to be successful outside of your academic careers, to list a few. Please reach out to me if you have any thoughts that you think are important for the administration to hear.
I look forward to the challenges that will arise in the coming year, and I can’t wait to see what the new term brings!

Hello, whoever is reading this. I’m in 2A Systems Design Engineering and I’m looking to represent engineering students on student council and on the university Senate. I could come up with a specific platform, but I’d rather just listen to what people want. As such, I commit to be dedicated to these roles and advance the issues that matter most to engineering students. To do so, I also commit to maintain online accessibility so that any student’s concern can be raised with me. If anything’s on your mind, I want to hear from you.

Hello, I'm Matthew Gerrits and I am ready to bring my experience to Senate to serve as your at-large representative. I have been heavily involved on campus as VP Finance of ESS, as an Environment Councilor for Feds, and as an Orientation Coordinator. I've also played a role in conference organizing and spent two years on an engineering team. I'm currently developing FEDS policies on Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, and on the establishment of a University Ombudsman. These are only some of the issues I would bring to the table if elected, and I humbly ask for your support.
