Feds Does What? Discover Your Student Union at the Feds Open House!

May 12th, 2016

Bring some friends, and get ready for an afternoon of discovery! Feds will be hosting an Open House on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be held in the Courtyard and Marketplace of the Student Life Centre. The Feds Open House is the perfect opportunity to meet with Feds full-time and part-time staff, and learn about their roles. It is also a chance for students to discover how to become more involved in the University of Waterloo community.

Each term, Feds puts on an open house so students can learn about the many services that it offers. These services include The Women’s Centre, The Glow Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity, the Volunteer Centre, the Health and Dental Plan, UPASS, The Bombshelter Pub, Campus Bubble, and much more. On May 17, for the first time, the Bike Centre will be a part of the event. The centre became a Feds student-run service earlier this year.

At the open house students will be able to stop by booths, and become more familiar with the different roles in Feds departments. Various activities will be held at each booth including one where students will be able to complete engaging exercises to help with a new website for Feds. Communications and Marketing, Finance, IT, and several other Feds departments, will be there to answer questions.

Students can also collect coupons to receive a free burger from The Bombshelter Pub, a free reusable cup, and a chance to win the grand prize - one of two $50 AMEX gift cards.

The Feds staff look forward to meeting you!
