Welcome Week is a week-long event that happens every term (Fall, Winter, and Spring) that is intended to welcome new and returning students back to the University of Waterloo. It incorporates many different types of events to appeal to a variety of interests. Staple events such as Sex Toy Bingo, free breakfast, and movie marathons happen every term. Spring Welcome Week ties in summer activities (eg. slip n slides, bonfires, etc.) , and Winter Welcome Week ties in winter activities (eg. Skating parties, tobogganing, etc.). Fall Welcome Week is the biggest week and comes right after Orientation Week. The president welcomes students back by providing a FREE lunch, and students experience a little more summer vacation by attending a free carnival and concert!
Welcome Week falls under the Special Events Division of the Federation of Students. It is run by student coordinators and volunteers. Please check out leads.uwaterloo.ca to see if there are any openings for volunteer opportunities!
